Medidor was founded in 2014, and is headquartered in Arcata, CA in the heart of Humboldt County. We produce controlled access devices that ensure the safety of families from prescription drugs, firearms, and cannabis. In 2015, Medidor began R&D and prototyping of our flagship product, the Medidor1, due for distribution in Quarter 1 of 2017. Our products are the only solution of their kind, serving family’s need for safety and preservation, all the while providing tertiary security solutions.

The Journal of Pediatrics, in its study on “Firearm Storage Practices”, concluded that over 1.69 million American children and minors are living in homes with loaded and unlocked firearms.
Firearms impact more than small children. The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence published a study finding that more than 75% of the guns in youth suicide attempts and unintentional injuries were stored in either the residence of the victim, a relative, or a friend.
The majority of cannabis related emergency room visits occur from children ingesting medical cannabis edibles. To an unsuspecting child, cannabis edibles often resemble children’s snacks.
Data shows there was a 268% increase in medical cannabis exposures to children in the 0 to 5 year-old age group from 2006 to 2009, and 2010 to 2013. The rate of poison control calls comparing states that have decriminalized cannabis with those transitional and non-legal states demonstrated significant differences.
As of 2016, medical and recreational cannabis is now legal for use in 39 states. As cannabis becomes more available, poisonings will continue to grow exponentially.

Marketing for Medidor1, and our commercial product, Medidor2, is being achieved to our four target avenues: medical marijuana patients (esp parents), recreational marijuana users, dispensaries, and growers.
Marketing to marijuana users will be executed primarily through social media, magazines, radio, press releases, doctor's offices, and Medidor product displays in dispensaries, and cannabis and tobacco supply stores. We are focusing on California, Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Michigan which are the biggest projected legal cannabis markets, but we will have a strong presence in all of the 28 Medical states. Through social media, we will have a presence Worldwide with our revolutionary line of products with no competition in the marketplace to date.
Additional marketing efforts will include working cohesively with lawmakers at the city, county, and state levels to implement ordinances requiring mandatory safe storage of cannabis, pharmaceuticals, and fire-arms.
Marketing to recreational users and industry enthusiasts will be achieved primarily through retail partnerships with big box entities such as Walmart, Home Depot, and Amazon. These partnerships will help drive product visibility and online presence. The Medidor website is a primary source for original content related to Medidor1, industry updates, and trade show information. Advanced search engine optimization tools are being used to drive traffic to our site, and sites of our retail partners.
Additional marketing efforts targeting industry enthusiasts will include participating in 6-10 industry trade shows per year. Trade show participation is already driving sales enthusiasm, brand visibility, product knowledge, and building viable industry partnerships.
Placement of product ads in leading medical marijuana industry magazines and websites will maximize product awareness, and support retail efforts. Social media strategies are being executed to centralize our online community, providing a platform to ensure the success of future product releases. Major television outlets such as, but not limited to CNN and CNBC, will also serve as a platform for exponential growth of knowledge of our multi-faceted products and unique brand.
